Introducing the Short Film Day

The Short Film Day was created in France in 2012. It is a celebration of short films, which highlights their diversity. Screenings are free and take place in a range of various locations in order to reach a wider audience. Each participating venue can design its own event. The concept of the event has spread internationally and several countries now host their own “Shortest Day” : Germany, Portugal, The Netherlands, Italy, Croatia, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Slovenia… A short film programme designed for a young audience is available for all members of Short Circuit during the Short Film Day (end of December in all countries, except France in March).

Participating countries

More and more European countries take part in the Short Film Day with all kinds of activities.
